Rebecca Browell and Ralph Knowles were arraigned in court Thursday on charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation and drugging of a 14-year-old girl.

Rebecca Browell, a 46-year-old resident of Brentwood, and Ralph Knowles, a 63-year-old, appeared in court in Central Islip on Thursday. Court documents allege that Browell provided drugs to a minor and was aware of the girl's age and her involvement in sexual contact with an adult male. Police believe this occurred between December 13th and January 3rd at the Islip marina, where the 14-year-old girl from Patchogue was discovered on January 3rd.

Browell is also facing multiple drug charges, accused of selling cocaine and heroin between January and February. Knowles is charged with second-degree attempted rape, forcible touching, and criminal sale of a controlled substance. Court records indicate that Knowles and Browell share the same address in Brentwood and were arrested on Thursday after allegedly selling drugs to an undercover police officer.'What the exact relationship between the parties is right now, we don't know just yet. That's one of the things that's going to get ironed out,' stated Pierre Bazile, Browell's defense attorney. As previously reported by News 12, other individuals arrested in connection with the teen face charges of sex trafficking, rape, and kidnapping
