Class 5A Division I Wagner vs. Denton Ryan, 1 p.m. Saturday: Wagner was ranked No. 1 by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches entering the postseason. The Thunderbirds are led by guard L.A. Sneed, a Utah-signee, who averages 23.8 points, 6.2 assists and 5.5 steals. Wagner has won 25 in a row and defeated No. 2 Leander Glenn and No. 9 Georgetown in the playoffs. Wagner is making its sixth appearance and is in the finals for the first time. Ryan was unranked at the end of the regular season and is making its state debut. Zaviana Madison leads the team with a 13.4-point average. The Raiders have playoff wins against No. 3 Amarillo Tascosa and No. 4 Amarillo. Others Class 6A Division I Cedar Hill vs. Humble Summer Creek, 7 p.m. Saturday: Cedar Hill is on a roll after finishing third in district. The Longhorns are back at state for the fourth time and are looking for their first state title. Summer Creek is making its fourth state appearance and is also aiming for its first championship. The Bulldogs lost against Judson for the 6A championship in 2019. Class 6A Division II Fort Worth Boswell vs. Fort Bend Hightower, 5 p.m. Saturday: Boswell , ranked No. 2 in the state, previously advanced to state in 1977. The Pioneers have won 14 in a row and are led by Miami-bound Camille Williams . Hightower advances to state in its first season in Class 6A. The Hurricanes have won 23 in a row and seek their first championship in four state appearances. Class 5A Division II Lubbock Monterey vs. Liberty Hill, 11 a.m. Saturday: Senior guard Aaliyah Chavez, the nation’s top recruit, leads Monterey with a 35.3-point average to go with 9.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.8 steals. Monterey seeks its second state championship and the first since 1981. Liberty Hill is aiming for its first state championship after qualifying for the state tournament seven times. Class 4A Division I Decatur vs. Waco La Vega, 7 p.m. Friday: Fourth-ranked Decatur last advanced this far in 1961. The Eagles are led by Bralyn Peck and Style Brazile . La Vega is going for a state three-peat and is fourth title overall. Angela Carroll averages 14.4 points to lead the Pirates. Class 4A Division II Dallas Lincoln vs. Cuero, 5 p.m. Friday: Lincoln entered the postseason as the top-ranked team in Class 4A. The Tigers have advanced to the state tournament 17 times and looking for their first title since 2008. Guard Ar’Jayla Elder averages 13.5 points. They lost against Waco La Vega in last year’s 4A final. Cuero , making its deepest run in program history, is led by Arissa Carbonara and is on a 20-game winning streak. Class 3A Division I Tuscola Jim Ned vs. Fairfield, 1 p.m. Friday: Jim Ned entered the postseason as the state’s top ranked 3A team. The Indians edged No. 2 Winnsboro 40-38 to get to the final. Jim Ned is in search of its third state championship and its first since 2008. Fairfield , ranked No. 4, is headed to the state championship for the fifth time in the last six years and seeks its third state championship and its first since 2022. Class 3A Division II Paradise vs. Kountze, 11 a.m. Friday: Paradise is making its deepest playoff run in school history and squeezed past Idalou 42-40 to get to the final. Kountze is seeking its first state championship after six previous tries as a state semifinalist.
