CLEVELAND, Ohio - Laurese Glover will stage his life story in a play Saturday night at the East Cleveland Public Library . Ahead of Mother’s Day, Glover’s play, titled “The Lynched Among Us: East Cleveland , The Laurese Glover Story,” focuses on the strain his wrongful imprisonment and conviction had on his relationship with his mother.
In 1995, Glover and two other men were wrongfully imprisoned for murder and became known as the East Cleveland Three. Glover’s play will begin showing at 3 p.m. at the Greg L. Reese Performing Arts Center within the library. The play’s premiere will be followed by a viewing of the RuEl Sailor’s story performed at Playhouse Square and a workshop with the play’s stage director, Alfred Cleveland.
