Georgetown officials plan to conduct truck-mounted mosquito spraying near Edwards Park on Oct. 10 and 11 after trap samples tested positive for West Nile virus.
The Williamson County and Cities Health District reported that mosquitoes collected Sept. 27 from trap sites in Edwards Park, located at 704 Ash St., tested positive for the virus.
While the mosquito control product poses no significant health risk, residents and pets are advised to stay indoors during spraying operations, which will occur in the evening hours, weather permitting.Since May, 63 mosquito trap samples in Williamson County have tested positive for West Nile virus. One human case has been reported in the county this year.
