We expect this vehicle to use the name TZ. The shadowy silhouette you see here is the newest Lexus SUV, which will be revealed May 6. Based on its shape, we think this is the luxury brand's new three-row electric SUV model, which we believe will wear the TZ nameplate. The reveal will take place next week, but there's plenty we already know about what to expect from this new EV.
The TZ will be closely related to the recently revealed 2027 Toyota Highlander EV, much like the smaller, two-row Lexus RZ shares components with the Toyota bZ. The TZ, of course, will be differentiated by unique Lexus styling in and out, plus more luxurious interior materials.
While the Highlander offers two battery pack sizes, we expect the Lexus to come standard with the larger pack, measuring 95.8 kWh, which should offer more than 300 miles of driving range. A dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain will likely be the only offering on the TZ; while the Highlander has a 338-hp output, the Getaway has 420 horses, and we'd think the Lexus would adopt the more powerful version of this setup.
