DOTHAN, Ala. -A man police say killed another man during an argument over a car battery is expected to go to trial in the coming week.
The murder case against Tobias Marsh is the second case on Houston County Circuit Judge Kevin Moulton’s docket, with proceedings possibly starting Monday. Marsh is charged in the 2023 shooting death of 31-year-old Willie Roberson, who was killed in the 900 block of North Bell Street in Dothan. In a previous report, Dothan Police Chief William E. Benny told WTVY News 4 that Marsh had borrowed a car from Roberson, but the car needed a battery which Marsh apparently purchased.
Benny said Marsh returned the car without turning over the battery, sparking an argument in front of several witnesses, some of them children. Marsh was initially charged with capital murder, which can carry the death penalty, because children were present during the shooting.
