Deputies from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers in a pursuit Friday for a man with an active warrant.

PORTAGE COUNTY , Ohio - Deputies from the Portage County Sheriff’s Office assisted Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers in a pursuit Friday for a man with an active warrant. According to a social media post by the sheriff’s office, OSHP troopers initiated a traffic stop on I-76.

As deputies from the Portage Aggressive Crime Enforcement Unit arrived to assist, they observed the trooper retreat to his cruiser as the suspect fled the scene.According to deputies, the pursuit lasted 32 minutes and reached speeds exceeding 124 mph, traveling along I-76, I-80, Youngstown city streets, Canfield Township and Boardman streets. During the pursuit, Collmar struck an embankment, resulting in a flat tire and eventually coming to a stop on Tippecanoe Road.Collmar had an active felony warrant out of Boardman Township for theft, but his criminal history includes charges for the following:Statewide quarantine issued in Ohio for the Spotted LanternflyBody of man discovered in Akron woods ID’d as former inmate released from prison weeks before he was found
