CINCINNATI -An employee of a private company that provides medical care to inmates at the Hamilton County jail was indicted Thursday after she was recently charged with bringing marijuana into the facility.
Tiffany Walker, 54, of Westwood, faces the same felony charge that she was arrested on earlier this month: illegal conveyance of weapons, drugs or other prohibited items onto the grounds of a detention facility, according to her grand jury report. Walker brought marijuana hidden in a latex glove into the jail, which was later passed to an inmate on April 1, according to an affidavit. After being read her Miranda rights, Walker “admitted post Miranda to conveying said contraband,” a deputy wrote in a sworn statement. “Ms. Walker committed the offense as a contracted employee of NaphCare, which provides medical care to incarcerated individuals at the Hamilton County Justice Center. “This behavior will absolutely not be tolerated at the Hamilton County Justice Center,” the sheriff said in a prepared statement. “Our jail investigations team is committed to excellence in service to the citizens of Hamilton County, and this arrest is evidence of that commitment.
