After a few flurries midday the sun should pop out but provide little relief from extreme cold, with highs only in the 30’s this afternoon.

-The National Weather Service issued a plethora of warnings for what history may reflect as the coldest weather of this winter for southeast Alabama and adjacent areas. Extreme cold weather is in effect through noon Sunday and hard freeze warnings are in effect from Saturday night until Sunday morning.

There is also a wind advisory until 6 p.m. Saturday, with other alerts likely coming from forecasters. After a few flurries midday the sun should pop out but provide little relief from extreme cold, with highs only in the 30’s this afternoon.
