Investigators are working to solve the murders of a mother and her two children in Wilmer, Alabama. The victims were found bound and killed in their home, with the mother being pregnant. Authorities believe the killings were targeted and are pursuing leads.
The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office says investigators are working around the clock to solve a heinous quadruple murder that happened in Wilmer . A mother and her two children were found dead inside their home early Monday morning, their hands bound behind their backs with zip ties. One of the victims was pregnant.
Authorities say the bodies of 46-year-old Lisa Fields, 17-year-old Keziah Lucker and 12-year-old Thomas Cordelle Jr. were discovered inside a mobile home on Auble Moody Road around 2 a.m. Lucker’s 18-month-old daughter was also inside the home but was not injured.
Lisa'a husband, Nathan Fields, shared a message on social media, saying he is “crushed, lost, destroyed” and does not know how he will move forward.“It’s sad. It’s too close to home,” one neighbor said. The neighbor, who asked not to be identified, said while she's shocked, she does not feel unsafe, as investigators believe the killings were targeted.
Sheriff Paul Burch said there were no signs of forced entry, and the home appeared to have been ransacked, suggesting someone may have been searching for something. Burch revealed Lisa and Thomas' throats were slashed and Keziah was shot in the head.
“I kind of felt heavy about it yesterday, because God let me know that I'm not praying enough for my neighborhood, and it just kind of made me sad for the children,' said the neighbor. A family member told NBC 15 News that Lisa was known for helping others, often taking in her children’s friends when they needed a place to stay. Sheriff Burch says investigators are pursuing leads and is confident those responsible will be caught. “It was a brutal scene.
