A father and son in New York were arrested after swastika graffiti at a high school prompted an investigation that uncovered chemical explosives in their home. The father faces charges including weapon possession and endangering a child, while the son is charged with vandalism and harassment.

A father and son in New York have been arrested and charged after swastika graffiti at a high school led investigators to discover chemical explosives at their home. Investigators found the chemicals at a Long Island house while looking into a “bias incident” involving a swastika drawn in a boys’ bathroom at Syosset High School on Wednesday, according to theFrancisco Sanles, 48, was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, along with charges including criminal facilitation, endangering the welfare of a child and reckless endangerment.

Authorities said further investigation revealed he purchased the chemicals on multiple occasions. The unnamed son faces charges including criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief, aggravated harassment and making graffiti, police said.

“The Nassau County Fire Marshal, Arson Bomb Squad, Nassau County Police Emergency Service Unit were all notified and responded to the scene. The Nassau County Hazardous Material Response Team also responded and carefully removed the hazardous material from the home,” police said in a statement.

“I am writing to inform you that the District found swastikas and racial epithets above urinals at Syosset High School. The District immediately commenced an investigation and notified the Nassau County Police Department. Our investigation identified the person responsible and this is now a criminal matter with an active police investigation,” the district wrote in an emailLong-time Pennsylvania homeowners could be in for tax relief under new proposed legislation by Sen. Troopers got the call around 7:33 p.m., where a woman was left at the Sheetz on U.S. Route 322 in Cranberry Township after being attacked. Constellation Energy has asked the Susquehanna River Basin Commission for permission to pull 73.2 million gallons of water daily from the river.
