Painesville police officers saved the day - and some ducklings in distress - who fell down a storm sewer drain!

PAINESVILLE, Ohio - Painesville police officers saved the day - and some ducklings in distress - who fell down a storm sewer drain ! “Without hesitation, Officer Prugel descended down the drain to rescue the ducklings, while Officer Riha assisted above,” PPD stated.

While the mallard mom was understandably worried about her webbed-feet babies, they all ended up being a lucky ducky!“We’re happy to share that all ducklings were safely recovered and reunited with their mother—who proudly waddled them away," PPD said. “Great work, Officer Prugel and Officer Riha!”This was the second bird call Ofc. Prugel responded to within a month! She captured a turkey the department called a “full-fledged menace to society” that was ruffling some feathers back in March. 19 News is home to Northeast Ohio’s only all animal show!
