CLEVELAND , Ohio - The two men charged in connection with a deadly shooting at a downtown Cleveland nightclub last in December, are scheduled to be arraigned in Cuyahoga Cuyahoga Court of Common Pleas Monday.
Ron Hunter, 29, and Steven Cooperwood, 28, are both charged with murder, aggravated murder, felonious assault, and having weapons under disability.On Dec. 7, 2025, Monte Baker, 23, was shot and killed at Medusa nightclub, located at 1437 St. Clair Ave. Officers working in the area were flagged down and alerted about a man who had been shot inside the nightclub.Cooperwood was arrested by members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force Team on Dec. 24, 2025 at a home in the 1600 block of Sunset Ave. in Akron.Hunter was taken into custody on Jan. 28 at a home in the 6300 block of White Ave. in Cleveland. It is incredible that there were not more victims when these suspects opened fire in a crowded night club. Cleveland homicide detectives worked diligently to identify both suspects and our teams worked very closely with those detectives to ensure the individuals wanted for such heinous crimes are off the streets and brought to justice.
