Anchorage's annual citywide cleanup event begins May 2nd and lasts the entire month of May.
ANCHORAGE , AK - With most snow melted across the city, litter that accumulated over the winter is now visible across Anchorage . The Anchorage Chamber of Commerce is organizing a citywide cleanup through the end of May.
The annual event, now in its 59th year, kicks off Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. at Westchester Lagoon. Volunteers can pick up designated orange garbage bags and free dump passes to the Anchorage Transfer Station or the landfill in Eagle River at the event.
