Lucas Neff returns to sitcom television as Riley's estranged husband, Jimmy, on the upcoming episode of Shifting Gears titled 'Jimmy.' Riley's ex-husband arrives at Matt's (Tim Allen) home unannounced, bringing gifts and hoping to win Riley back. Riley (Kat Dennings) has some part to play in the direction her life took, but equal blame can be placed on her estranged husband, Jimmy ( Lucas Neff ). He will be able to make a case for himself when he pays an unannounced visit on Shifting Gears Season 1, Episode 5, titled 'Jimmy.' ABC released new images from the February 5 episode, previewing Jimmy's arrival and the ensuing fracas.
Jimmy drops by unannounced and comes bearing a gift, but is that enough to win Riley back? Meanwhile, Matt (Tim Allen) is beside himself with disbelief when this visit occurs, as teased by the logline below. 'Riley’s estranged husband, Jimmy, shows up to win her back, much to Matt’s dismay. While Matt struggles to get through to him, Riley finds support in an unexpected place.' Lucas Neff Plays Another Jimmy Close The images above show Jimmy arriving at Matt's home. Based on his behavior, no one knew he was coming. He puts on his charm when Matt opens the door, but that doesn't seem to impress Matt. Even less impressed is Riley, for whom Jimmy has some flowers. This might have worked when they were teenagers, but Riley has two children to think about. She seeks advice from the repair shop guys while Matt tries to understand Jimmy. The images don't show Jimmy with the children, so maybe Riley decides his presence is not good for them. Lucas Neff plays Jimmy, whose name is similar to that of his character from Raising Hope. Neff was also recently seen in American Primeval as Captain Edmund Dellinger. Shifting Gears follows Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When his estranged daughter, Riley, and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins. The show stars Allen, Dennings, Seann William Scott as Gabriel, Daryl'Chill' Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins as Carter, and Barrett Margolis as Georgia. Shifting Gears is thrilling audiences, with the latest report revealing that 17 million people have watched the pilot episode across all Disney-owned platforms, including ABC, Disney+, and Hulu.
