A new Alabama law aims to make it easier for former inmates to restore their voting rights.

There would be instructions to electronically submit their voting eligibility certification. “These are people that are getting out anyway,” said Sen. Coleman-Madison. “They have served their time; they have paid whatever restitution or whatever court requirements that they had.
