But in Saban's first year as a full-fledged media member as part of the SEC Now crew in Dallas, Saban ran into a problem Monday morning. He didn't have his media credential. He had to go back to his hotel room to get it before he could go to work on the SEC Now set. "Well, for 17 years when I was a coach, I never wore a credential and nobody ever stopped me from getting in," Saban said to SEC Now host Laura Rutledge. "Now that I'm on your team I guess it's a little different. People were really polite and I respect that they were just trying to do their job."
It hearkened back to the day in 2011 when Saban was speaking at the Monday Morning Quarterback Club and upon leaving, saw a parking ticket on the Mercedes he and a staff member took to the meeting.
