Five teenagers were hurt in a shooting at a 'senior skip day' meet-up near a recreational center in Maryland Friday afternoon, according to authorities.

Bowers said officers arrived at Schrom Hills Park around 2:30 p.m., where they found a group of 500 to 600 people, believed to be high school students ages 16 to 18 years old, gathered in the area. More officers were called to the area as backup to control the crowd when they heard gunshots nearby. A search for the shooter ensued, but police said the chaos of the shots fired led the group of kids to flee onto Hanover Parkway and police believe the suspect fled with them.
