The Lancaster Bureau of Police is implementing new safety measure s at the Park City Center carnival as it prepares to reopen for its second week Wednesday.
Fight prompts security changesThe added security follows a large fight involving a group of teens on Saturday night, which led police to take two 13-year-olds into custody.The teens were later released to their parents and were not charged.
New rules for entryPolice said a fence will be added to the carnival area, and anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is at least 25 years old. Officers said they were not included in the initial planning of the event.
Department pushes back on rumorsThe department also addressed misinformation about the incident. 'At no time did Lancaster City police officers observe anyone in possession of a firearm, hear gunshots, or locate any evidence to substantiate those claims,' the department said.
