The San Antonio Philharmonic ’s first season under the leadership of Music Director Jeffrey Kahane includes the launch of a new project revolving around Bach and a celebration of Selena . The 2024-25 season, which is the philharmonic’s third, also includes several performances at the Majestic Theatre , as well as other venues. The classical season will return to the First Baptist Church of San Antonio, the philharmonic’s home since it rose from the ashes of the San Antonio Symphony in 2022.
She will join the philharmonic for a program featuring works by Gabriela Ortiz, Benjamin Britten and Johannes Brahms. Sept. 27-28: Guest pianist Nicolas Namoradze will perform Maurice Ravel’s “Piano Concerto for the Left Hand” as part of a program that also includes Sarah Kirkland Snider’s “Forward Into Light” and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 in B minor.
