Berry’s 1958 song is also frequently heard in a cover version by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones.as a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, not from Philadelphia, who has nonetheless joined in on the Philly Specials benefit project. Among Philadelphians, the project has attracted stars like Patti LaBelle,on “Santa Drives An Astrovan,” the single which has topped the iTunes holiday chart. As has “Maybe This Christmas,” Kelce duetPhilly Specials producer Charlie Hall said “Run Rudolph Run” was recorded in the summer before the Eagles season began. “It was such a special moment, and in a sense captures the spirit of the entire affair as well as anything we’ve ever done. I especially love how Lane taps into a whole new zone with his vocal. There was a feeling in the room that I’ll never forget when we cut this one. Everyone just laid it all out there. I wanted it to cook and I wanted it to be greasy,” Hall said via email. Bassist Anthony Tidd and drummer Justin Faulkner, “really found the sweet spot. It swings, it’s loose as hell, and it rocks.
