A 22-year-old Jewish man was attacked by a gang of masked thugs allegedly after speaking Hebrew on his mobile phone. He was subjected to a brutal assault with cuts and bruises, leaving him close to losing consciousness.
A Jewish man, named Shalev Ben-Yakar, 22, was attacked by a gang of masked thugs after allegedly speaking Hebrew on his mobile phone. According to the Campaign Against Antisemitism, the attackers caught him, dragged him across the road and subjected him to a brutal assault.
He was left close to losing consciousness, with cuts and bruises on his face. Pictures showed the extent of his injuries. The incident happened at 2am outside his home in Golders Green, North London, the day after two ambulances belonging to Jewish charity Hatzola were set on fire and two Jewish men were stabbed. The Metropolitan Police treated the assault as an antisemitic hate crime, with no arrests made at this stage
