DOTHAN , Ala. - A gas leak sent a few Dothan students home early this morning after crews struck a line along Fortner Street in front of Ridgecrest Baptist School. Southeast Alabama Gas District personnel stopped the gas leak quickly, and workers began repairing the ruptured line.
As that happened, parents picked up their children from Ridgecrest Early Learning Center before normal dismissal time. “It was strictly precautionary,” Dothan Fire Department Deputy Chief Chris Etheredge said of the early dismissal.
