Ilford, London: Hooded youths stage a chaotic retail heist, stealing clothes from JD Sports

A group of hooded youths raided a JD Sports store in Ilford, London, on Saturday. The youths stole clothes from the shop while a loyal team of young women attempted to prevent the theft. The incident is part of a group shopping activity called 'linkup,' involving a large number of individuals gathering and shoplifting from various shops nationwide.

A horde of hooded youths with balaclavas raided a JD Sports store, robbing it of merchandise while female workers fought to reclaim the clothes. The incident took place at around 5 pm on Saturday on Ilford High Road in London .

The group of roughly nine youngsters spread across the lower ground floor of the store, snatching goods from the clothes rails. Meanwhile, a female worker engaged in a tug-of-war with one of the youths at the escalators, while others climbed up to reach safety. Eventually, the youths escaped with the stolen goods. Police were called but no arrests were made.

Enquiries are ongoing. The incident was part of a trend called 'linkup,' referring to large groups of youngsters who gather across the country for shoplifting. Amid 'linkups,' mobs of youths ran wild in Clapham and Birmingham, causing chaos and injuries
