) - A bill to rename the ‘Gulf of Mexico’ to the ‘Gulf of America’ passed Alabama’s House of Representatives Tuesday evening., also called the ‘Gulf of America Act’, it would require state and local governments and their employees to use ‘Gulf of America’ in new maps, documents, educational materials and any official communications.

He told fellow lawmakers that the bill would reflect President Trump’s 2025 executive order calling for the name change.
