The PGA of America REACH Foundation, focused on using golf to improve the lives of veterans, active military, youth, and underserved communities, has appointed its inaugural executive director, Jenny Lewis. Lewis, a seasoned nonprofit leader, brings her passion for both philanthropy and golf to the role.

The organization, which is separate from the PGA Tour, administers major pro golf tournaments, including the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, which will be hosted in Frisco next year. The organization also operates the Ryder Cup and the PGA Championship.Last week, the organization named Jenny Lewis, 53, who brings decades of experience leading nonprofits, to lead its charity arm, the foundation.Lewis is originally from the midwest, but has lived in Collin County for 45 years. She grew up in Plano and lives in McKinney.Since moving its headquarters to Frisco in August 2022, PGA of America and its 160,000-plus square-foot campus, has been an important part of what makes up “Sports City USA,” a moniker given to Frisco. The organization’s mission is to “positively impact the lives of youth, military and diverse populations” through the game of golf, according to its website.In addition to hosting the PGA Jr. League, the foundation has programs to provide more opportunities for students in historically underrepresented communities to get involved in the professional golf industry. Lewis, who will be the inaugural executive director of the foundation, sat down with The Dallas Morning News at the PGA of America headquarters in Frisco to discuss her plans for the foundation.I saw a LinkedIn post you made that mentioned that this new position puts your passion for philanthropy and golf together.
