Red Dead Online is introducing a series of racing events throughout May, offering players limited-time rewards, cosmetics, and the Ruby Buckle for top performances.
Much like driving around the map in Grand Theft Auto V, hopping on your loyal stead and galloping through a 19th century America was a highlight of my experience with Red Dead Redemption 2.
With my best buddy by my side, we took to the highest mountains, the coldest rivers, and the dustiest plains, and of course, we never declined the opportunity to race any NPC who dared to challenge us. Well, if you are like me and enjoyed spending time with your horse in Red Dead Redemption 2, then you will love this latest batch of free downloads for Red Dead Online.
That is because, this month, Red Dead Online has a focus on all things racing with its Race Series running from 5 May to the 11. During this time, players will be able to get their hands on limited-time rewards, including cosmetics, RDO$, XP, and more. So, if you have been searching for a reason to return to Red Dead Online, now may be the perfect time.
Let us face it, in comparison to Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Redemption 2's online component has been left in the dust. Although it does receive regular updates from Rockstar, it has suffered from a lack of new and exciting content as opposed to Grand Theft Auto Online, which is always introducing new and exciting ways for players to enjoy it.
However, it seems as though this brand-new Race Series for Red Dead Online aims to change that as, throughout May, placing Top 3 in any Race will reward players with the Ruby Buckle. Additionally, with this month's Featured Series featured around all-things racing, this is the perfect time to deck out your outlaw in the latest fashion. Following the 5-11 Race Series, the Open Target Races and Overrun Series will take place.
Running from 12 May to 18 May, this will be your opportunity to choose your loyal stead and go head-to-head with fellow players to see who really is the king of the wild west. However, that is not all, as there is plenty more racing to take part in with the arrival of the Target Races and Capture Mode Series from 26 May to 1 June.
Taking part in all of these Featured Series events will bag you limited-time cosmetics, as well as heaps of RDO$ and XP which can be used to improve your character, and most importantly, do a bit of shopping. It is events such as these that will hopefully bring more players to the beloved world of Red Dead Online.
It may not have received the same love and care as Grand Theft Auto Online, but its thriving community just goes to show how much it is still loved for what it is. Hopefully, following the launch of Grand Theft Auto VI later this year, attention will be turned back to the Red Dead franchise.
