A new shuttle service is in downtown Rochester ahead of the eclipse.
Rochester , N.Y. — The partnership between the Rochester Museum and Science Center and FirstStudent, a school bus service, aims to provide a "convenient, reliable, and fully accessible" transportation service to visitors."It’s smart because the congestion is going to be just awful there," said Yencer. "It's going to be that when we get there because people probably didn’t read everything and saw that there’s a bus shuttle.
Marius De Leeuw of The Netherlands had an opportunity to ride a school bus for the first time on his way to the RMSC. De Leeuw traveled to Rochester to visit family and watch the eclipse."For events like this, it's well worth the eclipse," said De Leeuw. "It was a bit cramped; I can see this being made for small kids and not for big grown-up men pretty uncomfortable ride."
The shuttle service will run through Monday, April 8th, and is free. Visitors can park at the East End & South Ave garages and stop at the RMSC, George Eastman Museum, The Strong National Museum of Play, and the Memorial Art Gallery. On Monday, there will be an additional stop at the City of Rochester Public Market. Parking garage fees will still apply.April 8: 8:30am–6:30pm
