A new wildfire in Box Elder County is said to be human caused and is threatening structures, causing homes to be evacuated, officials said.

Two homes have been evacuated after fire broke out in a remote part of Box Elder County, north of the Great Salt Lake. Officials said two structures burned, but the extent of damage was not available. It was unclear it the structures were homes or something else. The Willow Springs Fire started just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, west of Promontory, between 85 and 90 miles north of Salt Lake City. The fire's initial size was estimated at 50 acres when it first came in. Officials said the fire has since grown to around 350 acres within less than a few hours.Both local and federal resources were called out to fight the flames. State wildfire officials said high winds were making it difficult to keep the fire from spreading. Structures were threatened, and officials confirmed "a couple homes" have been evacuated east of Promontory. It was not clear if there were additional structures threatened in addition to the homes.
