Today, April 13th, is the final day for consumers to file a claim for Dollar General's $8.5 million class action settlement related to price discrepancies at checkout. The lawsuit alleged that Dollar General charged customers more than the advertised shelf prices between October 10, 2016, and November 19, 2025. Eligible customers can receive $10 or the overcharge amount, with a maximum of two claims per household, and may also be eligible for a $3 discount. Today, April 13, is the last day to file a claim for Dollar General ’s multimillion-dollar class action settlement .
The class action lawsuit accused Dollar General of having discrepancies between the prices of merchandise advertised on the shelves and what customers were getting charged at checkout.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General said in a news release in December, that Dollar General 'failed more than 40 percent of pricing accuracy inspections between 2019 and 2023.'
The company has denied any wrongdoing, according to a USA Today report. The settlement amount was $8.5 million.
Any consumers in the United States that paid more for items than was advertised on the price label while in store between Oct. 10, 2016, and Nov. 19, 2025, are eligible to file a claim.
Eligible customers will receive either $10 or the amount of the overcharge.
There is a maximum of two overcharge claims per household.
Additionally, consumers could be eligible for an in-store $3 discount on the first $10 of any purchase that amounts to at least $10 before tax. To file a claim, click here.
Some consumers may have received a personalized notice and 'notice ID,' as well as a confirmation code that can be entered on the Dollar General settlement website.
