A new system called Presto is designed to update iPhones' software without opening the box. It uses a locker-like device powered by a Mac mini to hold and update multiple iPhones at once.
Imagine the scene: you’ve just bought a new iPhone and are excited to get it working. But Apple released a new software update last night, so before you can do much, you need to update the iPhone. If you bought the phone in an Apple Store and the guys are setting it up for you, you have to twiddle your thumbs while the Store’s wifi downloads and installs the update.
