Bird Buddy unveils a new brand, Wonder, with two innovative products: the Petal, a solar-powered biomorphic camera, and Wonder Blocks, a modular system for building wildlife habitats. The Petal boasts advanced AI recognizing birds, insects, and even flower bloom cycles. Wonder Blocks offer customization with features like butterfly feeders and bug hotels, attracting diverse wildlife.
of birds and squirrels. At CES 2025, Bird Buddy announced they are expanding their product lineup under a new brand called Wonder . Alongside the existing Bird Buddy device, which remains a flagship product, Wonder is launching two new products: the Petal, a “biomorphic” camera that captures more of what’s happening in the garden, and Wonder Blocks, a modular system that lets you build the kind of wildlife habitat you hope to attract to the lens.
The Petal camera gets its name from its shape. It looks a bit like a flower—I guess so that the butterflies in your garden can’t tell otherwise. Its solar-powered panel looks like a leaf, so the camera stays powered without requiring a tether. One of the annoying parts of the first-gen Bird Buddy is how often it requires charging out of the birdhouse. This one purports to be powered entirely by the sun. Wonder says the Petal is its first “true nature camera” because of how much it recognizes. It’s built atop the same Bird Buddy AI that recognizes animals, though it’s expanding to see more than before. This camera uses AI to “see” biomorphically, so it can identify small species like bees buzzing around for pollen. It can even tell you if a flower is close to opening up. The other interesting part of the Petal camera is “Paul Sunshine,” which appears to be the moniker for Wonder’s Natural Intelligence inside the Bird Buddy app. This bot will identify who has flown in and out of your yard and whether the flowers have bloomed. It will also tell you how many bugs and birds it saw on a given day. It’ll point out intriguing passersby—snails, ladybugs—and let you know if someone has been feasting on a favorite plant outside. The Wonder Blocks are the other part of this new rollout of products from Bird Buddy’s creators. It’s a modular planter box, for all intents and purposes, and you can add individual pieces like a butterfly feeder or a “bug hotel” to entice new guests. The plantar also helps house the Petal in a camouflaged setting. The new devices will be available to order on Kickstarter sometime in the spring. Wonder has not announced pricing yet. It is unclear whether these devices will integrate with the original Bird Buddy smart feeder.Intel Claims Its Latest Arrow Lake Chips Boost Gaming Performance Beyond Gaming The new Intel Core Ultra 200H and 200HX in the Arrow Lake lineup are set to improve CPU performance for gaming and business laptops. The Govee Gaming Pixel Light can use AI or audio to create custom pixel art and GIFs.
