The video was shared widely within multiple school districts; each share to a minor is a criminal matter, police say
PERKINS TWP., Ohio - Authorities expect to criminally charge two teenagers after a 14-year-old allegedly accessed a girl’s Snapchat account, obtained a sexually explicit video and disseminated it widely.
Perkins Township Police said Wednesday its officers are investigating a case where a sexually explicit video was shared throughout multiple school districts in the region. The investigation determined a 14-year-old from Edison Schools accessed a 16-year-old girl’s Snapchat account, then obtained and spread the video that was originally created by an 18-year-old man and sent to the teen girl. Authorities expect charges will soon be filed against the 18-year-old who made the video and sent it to the minor, as well as the 14-year-old who accessed the account and spread it more widely. Police said the video is being circulated to multiple people in multiple school districts. Investigators are hoping inform students and families that it’s a criminal matter every time any person shares this kind of video with a minor, a statement from the police department read. “We also can’t emphasis enough with students that they should never allow or provide other students their login and passwords for their social media accounts,” the statement from Perkins Township Police read. “Parents we ask that you talk with your children about this and make sure they understand what they are doing on social media and the repercussions that could take place.” They are asking students to be safe online and encouraged Perkins Schools students that they can always reach out to their school resource officer.Mansfield man gets body-slammed by cop after jaywalking, fractures seven ribsCleveland Hopkins Airport director breaks silence on height of Browns dome, but won’t go on cameraCanton Police investigating homicide after man found dead
