Police in Chambersburg arrested four wanted individuals during a search operation, including a woman linked to felony trespassing and a man wanted for drug possession. Meanwhile, a former Penn State professor was sentenced for performing sex acts with a dog, and new tax relief legislation for homeowners is under consideration. Additionally, Constellation Energy seeks approval to withdraw millions of gallons of water daily from the Susquehanna River.
Police in Chambersburg conducted a search operation on Wednesday targeting a wanted woman, Amanda Freet, 34, who was linked to a felony criminal trespassing charge.
However, the operation escalated when officers discovered three additional individuals with outstanding warrants at the same residence. Scott Eisenhour Sr., wanted by the Centre County Sheriff’s Office for possession of a controlled substance by an inmate, was found inside the home. Further investigation led police to a detached garage behind the property, where two more wanted individuals were apprehended.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the identities of the other suspects, but authorities confirmed that all four individuals are now in custody pending further legal proceedings. The operation highlights the collaborative efforts between local law enforcement agencies in tracking down fugitives and ensuring public safety.
Meanwhile, in a separate but equally disturbing case, a former Penn State professor was sentenced in Huntingdon County after being caught on camera performing sex acts with a dog in a state forest in May 2023. The incident, which sparked public outrage, resulted in the professor facing legal consequences for his actions. In other news, long-time Pennsylvania homeowners may soon receive tax relief under new legislation proposed by Sen. Doug Mastriano.
The bill aims to reduce property taxes for residents who have owned their homes for an extended period, addressing concerns about rising living costs. Additionally, Constellation Energy has submitted a request to the Susquehanna River Basin Commission, seeking permission to withdraw 73.2 million gallons of water daily from the river. The proposal has raised environmental concerns, with critics arguing that such a large-scale extraction could negatively impact local ecosystems and water supply.
Local authorities and environmental groups are expected to review the request and assess its potential consequences before making a decision
