PARMA HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Parma Heights Fire Department shared on social media Wednesday that it has an exciting new addition to the department.
The department said in a post that there’s a special kind of spirit that comes from watching a community grow stronger together, and that spirit is on full display with the addition of a new truck. Parma Heights Fire said it has a new 100-foot mid-mount Cobra ladder truck, and it is more than just a piece of equipment, it is a symbol of progress, preparedness and the department’s ongoing commitment to protecting the community.
With a 2,000 GPM pump, a 300-gallon water tank and a 100-foot vertical reach, it stands ready to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow, the fire department shared. For those who may have driven by the station recently, they may have noticed crews training both day and night, and that is because the firefighters are learning every detail of the 46-foot-long truck to ensure it’s ready when it matters most.
While there is still work to be done, including installing radios and mounting essential equipment, Parma Heights Fire said the finish line is in sight and the truck will soon be placed into service to keep Parma Heights safe.
