Politicos Perform Cantonese Opera in San Francisco, Highlighting Urban Language's Heritage and Tradition

Politicos from San Francisco performed a Cantonese opera song as part of their dedication to preserving the language's heritage and tradition. The performance aimed to show that leaders from all communities are expected to participate and learn local opera singing.

A group of San Francisco politicos, including Sen. Scott Wiener, Board president Rafael Mandelman and Supervisor Danny Sauter, perform one of the most renowned Cantonese opera songs on May 16, 2026.
