Founded as Jefferson United Methodist Church in 1946, the church fell behind on rent and was asked to leave the property.
For Pastor Olivia Downen-Walker , the past month has been a series of goodbyes at Jefferson Community Church . There was the closing of a beloved food pantry program, a final church fellowship dinner and the end of a treasured clothing ministry. On Easter Sunday , the last services were held inside the building the church has called home for 78 years.
