Two suspects were arrested after allegedly robbing a jewelry store, several cars, and a gas station convenience store. SAN ANTONIO - Two suspects who were arrested Friday are accused of a string of violent robberies across the north side.

Police announced the arrest of Austin Mendoza, 20, and Marcelo Ojeda, 19, who are suspected in three robberies that took place throughout Friday. Around noon, police responded to calls of a robbery at Rolling Oaks Mall. Allegedly, the two suspects arrived at a jewelry store in the mall and waited for it to open. After being in the store for 45 minutes, Mendoza allegedly grabbed multiple jewelry pieces and fled to a vehicle with Ojeda. A victim attempted to confront the two, leading to a struggle ensuing, ending with the victim being cut with an unknown object, and the two suspects fleeing the mall. Just three hours later, police responded to calls of an aggravated assault at the Ingram Park Mall. Both suspects were allegedly seen attempting to break into vehicles. The two then ran through the mall, entering the same vehicle they allegedly used to escape the Rolling Oaks robbery, pointing a handgun at a mall security officer during their escape, threatening to kill him. Two hours later, at 5 p.m., police responded to calls of an aggravated robbery at a convenience store near Ingram Park Mall, at the corner of Wurzbach Road and Crystal Hill. Mendoza allegedly entered the location, grabbed items from the convenience store, and exited without paying. When an employee at the location attempted to confront him in the parking lot, Ojeda allegedly brandished a pistol and threatened to kill him. As police were on their way to the store, the suspect's vehicle broke down, and the two suspects were forced to flee on foot. Officers eventually found the two, and after a brief foot pursuit, Mendoza was captured without incident. The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the San Antonio Police Department at 207-7273.
