WESTLAKE, Ohio - Westlake police pulled over a Cleveland man on the morning of May 9 and discovered a lunchbox full of drugs. At 3 a.m. on May 9, police pulled over a driver who was following another vehicle “too close” on westbound I-90 .
The driver, a 35-year-old Cleveland man who police said appeared intoxicated, admitted that a firearm may be in the vehicle. Police arrested the man for an OVI, but found a loaded Ruger firearm in the glove compartment and a lunchbox full of suspected marijuana and ecstasy pills on the passenger seat. The driver was transported to jail, where he tested at 1.5 times the legal limit on a breath test. Police say in addition to the OVI, the man was charged with prohibited breath-alcohol concentration, weaving and a felony for improper handling of a firearm.
