The 'Good Morning San Antonio' weekend anchor's reaction to the news was 'a full-blown ugly cry out of pure joy.'

While reporting the news, KSAT reporter and anchor Sarah Acosta got some news of her own: The baby she's expecting in March – her first – is a girl. Acosta got a call from her doctor's office between live shots for a 9/11 ceremony at a local high school.

She started 'sobbing,' and her friend and colleague at KSAT, photojournalist Azian Bermea, captured her reaction, Acosta said in a Q&A with the station. 'I am grateful I was working with him that day and that he documented my joy so that I can show my little girl one day,' Acosta said. 'Also, my mascara was all over my face for the next live hit that I had to do just a few minutes after that.' The 'Good Morning San Antonio' weekend anchor described her reaction as 'a full-blown ugly cry out of pure joy.' The anchor, who is in her second trimester, said she still experiences intense morning sickness, migraines, insomnia and fatigue. Acosta said she wants to be realistic about the difficulties of pregnancy so others don't feel ashamed to do so. And she asked viewers to hold back judgement on pregnant women's bodies, especially those on air. 'Growing a baby, everyone will look and show differently. It’s one thing for a woman to experience this and people to make comments about her changing body. It’s another thing for a woman to do this on TV in the public eye. I just ask our wonderful viewers to be kind and supportive, rather than pass judgment,' Acosta said. 'Some people are born old souls, and some are forever young souls. At heart, I have always been a little girl who finds joy in children’s movies, games and playful things,' Acosta said. 'I am excited to have a playmate that I can garden with, do arts and crafts with, and be my buddy on all my weird escapades.'
