Describes the investigation into a shooting incident in Brooklyn that occurred outside the Marlboro Houses on April 14, where a gunman opened fire on a crowd and injured an innocent bystander who was not the intended target.
Detectives are on the hunt for a gunman who opened fire on a crowd in Brooklyn last month, injuring an innocent bystander in the process.
According to police sources, it all unfolded at around 8:50 p.m. on April 14 outside of the Marlboro Houses in Gravesend, located at 2249 Stillwell Ave. The suspect got into an argument with a group of individuals hanging outside the NYCHA complex when he pulled out a gun and opened fire. During the chaos, a stray bullet grazed a 23-year-old woman in the left arm; police said she was not the intended target. The perpetrator then fled the scene.
EMS treated the victim on site for the wound. Police said the gunman was last seen wearing a black sweater, white T-shirt, black shorts, and black sneakers. The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect in hopes that he would be recognized. Anyone with information regarding this shooting can call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS (for Spanish, dial 888-57-PISTA).
