KPRC 2’s Gage Goulding spoke to several residents whose homes and property were damaged as trees toppled along Village Hill Drive on Monday afternoon. A tornado warning was issued for multiple Houston-area counties as a cold front brought a cluster of severe storms, including at least one confirmed tornado. The Klein and Spring fire departments also responded to the neighborhood for a possible gas leak caused by uprooted trees and structural damage. Goulding spoke with one man who said he was inside his office when he heard a TV report about a tornado spotted near SH-249 and Grant Road, close to where he was.Another homeowner, Bobbitt, said her home’s roof was damaged and her vehicle’s back window was blown out by the storm. She said her family had only seconds to take cover.Bobbitt said they hid under the stairs in a small cubby closet, grabbing their pets with just seconds to spare as the twister hit. “We are very blessed we are OK,” she said. “We were very lucky, and someone was looking out for us above in the sky.”'Somebody was watching': Woman says she is lucky home wasn't damaged worse after Spring tornadoVideo of tornadic storm in NW Harris CountyHouston sets records for warm days in November! What weather we can expect for Thanksgiving week!Southwest Houston caught in citywide trash backlogHouston animal rescue asks for temporary Thanksgiving fosters to help ease overcrowdingRain returns: Wednesday weather update for the remainder of the weekHere's how the new flu vaccines are made every year!Rain chances ramp up for the weekend in HoustonDrought expanding in Houston and SE TexasTariffs driving up prices on Christmas trees, decor, lights.
