Two suspects have been arrested after police say they fired shots near the Soul Lounge in Steelton . Police say that officers on patrol in the area of the 100 block of North Front Street discovered that shots had been fired near the Soul Lounge around 3:15 a.
m. Sunday. They determined that the shots were fired from a vehicle. No injuries were reported. Officers say they identified and arrested 27-year-old Cody Eldridge and 31-year-old Kevin Spears after an investigation. They are both charged with: Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon Criminal conspiracy to commit aggravated assault Recklessly endangering another person Firearms not to be carried without a licenseThis incident is still under investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Steelton Borough Police Department. Mayor releases statement Steelton Mayor Ciera Dent posted a statement about the shooting on Facebook, where she called on the borough council to move forward with legislative action that would 'hold establishments accountable when they become a threat to public safety.' You can read her full statement below: 'This morning’s shooting is deeply concerning, and my heart is with everyone impacted by yet another act of violence connected to a location that has already raised serious concerns.Let me be clear—when we begin to see patterns like this, we have a responsibility to respond with more than temporary fixes. We must address the root of the issue with intention, accountability, and the courage to act.I am grateful for the swift response of our Police Department and their continued commitment to protecting our community under difficult circumstances. But enforcement alone cannot solve what is becoming a recurring problem.That is why I have formally called on Borough Council to move forward with immediate legislative action that strengthens our ability to hold establishments accountable when they become a threat to public safety. We need solutions that are not only responsive—but sustainable and enforceable.Public safety is not a talking point—it is a responsibility. And it requires coordination, clarity, and leadership at every level.We will not normalize this. We will not ignore it. And we will not stop pushing for the kind of change our community deserves.'
