Authorities in Utah said they found a deceased male on the Canyon Overlook Trail in Zion National Park over the weekend. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office said the Consolidated Communications Center received a call about a hike possibly falling at the park. Authorities have not released the name of the man.
"The Washington County Sheriff’s Office expresses our gratitude to Hurricane Valley Fire and Rescue, Zion Park Rangers, and the Zion Technical Search and Rescue for their assistance," posted on its Facebook page. This is the second deadly fall in recent months at Zion National Park. In October, the CEO of a Utah-based software company tragically died after falling 200 feet while climbing in Zion National Park in Springdale, Utah, according to officials.
