2, 2025. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy vowed he and his allies will finally "stop" Russian President Vladimir Putin and the ongoing war between the two nations.his scheduled meeting in Florida with President Donald Trump. "Ukraine did not start this war. Russia started it. Ukraine supported President Trump’s proposal for a ceasefire. Ukraine has agreed to many different compromises, and this is documented in our draft agreements, in our 20-point plan. Ukraine is willing to do whatever it takes to stop this war," Zelenskyy wrote on X. Zelenskyy said his number one goal is to end the war. But he said he can't do it without "the support of the world," including the U.S. and Europe. FILE - President Donald Trump welcomes Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House in Washington, Friday, Feb. 28, 2025. "For us, the priority is peace. We need to be strong at the negotiating table. To be strong, we need the support of the world: Europe and the United States. And this includes air defenses -- which are currently insufficient, weaponry -- which is currently insufficient, and money -- thankfully, there is now a European decision, but, frankly, there is a constant shortage of funds, in particular for the production of weapons and, most importantly, drones," Zelenskyy wrote. "In this war of Russia against Ukraine, we want peace, and Russia demonstrates a desire to continue the war. If the whole world -- Europe and America -- is on our side, together we will stop Putin. Because together we will all want the same thing: an end to the war, peace -- a normal peace, a sustainable peace, safe for the whole world. If anyone -- whether the U.S. or Europe -- is on Russia’s side, this means the war will continue. There are no other options here. And this is a risk for all countries in the world. Because Russia will not stop, regardless of any agreements, any eloquent messages from them. They will not stop at Ukraine," he added. The post comes just hours after Russia attacked Ukraine's capital with missiles and drones on Saturday, killing at least one person and wounding 27. Explosions boomed across Kyiv as ballistic missiles and drones hit the city. Zelenskyy previously told journalists that he and Trump will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine during Sunday's talks, and that the 20-point plan under discussion “is about 90% ready.” An “economic agreement” also will be discussed, Zelenskyy said, but added that he was unable to confirm "whether anything will be finalized by the end." The Ukrainian side will also raise "territorial issues", he said. Moscow has insisted that Ukraine relinquish the remaining territory it still holds in the Donbas -- an ultimatum that Ukraine has rejected. Russia has captured most of Luhansk and about 70% of Donetsk -- the two areas that make up the Donbas.Arturo Rafael Brito Goncalvez, a 22-year-old Venezuelan pilot, is fighting deportation after being detained by ICE last week. The talent of some central Ohio natives will be on display at the New Year's Day parade in London, United Kingdom, on January 1st.The March to Miami starts with a trip to the Cotton Bowl for the Ohio State Buckeyes, and bars across Columbus are gearing up for a huge celebration.4
