Zach grew up watching Turner Classic Movies and obsessively following the Oscar race. As a budding cinephile, he used the AFI Top 100 lists, Roger Ebert's Great Movies books, and the Criterion Collection as a helpful guide for what to rent from the video store. He finds endless pleasure learning about the history of world cinema, and loves discovering something new to watch. He also knows way too much about the Academy Awards, and can name every Best Picture nominee from any given year .
He earned a BFA in film directing at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking. He has worked on various movies and television shows as a director, writer, and actor. His short film, "Calzone's Pizza," was a First Runner-Up at the 2021 Russo Brothers Italian American Film Forum.Zach has a passion for all things cinema, especially films from the 1970s.
