YouTube Music enhances the user experience with a new feature that lets you delve into an artist's music through a dedicated Samples feed on their pages.
YouTube Music is enhancing its platform with a new feature aimed at providing a more immersive experience for music lovers and artists alike. This update focuses on the ' Samples ' feature, originally introduced in 2023 as a way to discover new music through short video clips. Now, Samples are evolving into a visual portfolio for artists' pages, offering them a unique platform to showcase their music and connect with fans.
According to a recent report, when users visit an artist's page on YouTube Music for iOS, they will notice a 'Samples' button in the top bar, positioned alongside the share and search buttons. Tapping this button will open a dedicated feed featuring short video clips exclusively from that artist. While the main Samples feed remains accessible at the bottom of the app, nestled between the Home and Explore buttons, this new addition provides a more direct and focused way to explore an artist's work. This feature allows users to quickly get a feel for an artist's music before diving deeper into their full catalog. Samples offer a glimpse into their musical style, the aesthetic of their music videos, and the essence of their songs. By incorporating Samples into artist pages, YouTube Music aims to provide a more engaging and interactive experience for both listeners and creators. This move also aligns YouTube Music with its competitor, Spotify, which already features a similar functionality, allowing users to easily listen to samples of tracks on an artist's page. However, it's important to note that the new Samples button on artist pages is currently being rolled out gradually and may not be available to all users yet. Furthermore, this feature hasn't been spotted on YouTube Music for Android devices. Despite these limitations, the development of this feature demonstrates YouTube Music's ongoing efforts to innovate and enhance its platform, catering to the evolving needs and preferences of its users
