Meek was hospitalized at the University of Alabama at Birmingham but succumbed to his injuries on December 21st. His Instagram account shared a tribute, stating that his 16 years were 'far too short,' but he made a significant impact on everyone he met.
Meek's obituary describes him as a 'reflective and thoughtful' young man who loved traveling, the outdoors, skiing, and water sports. The Vestavia Hills Police Department is still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death
