Yellowstone's Rip Wheeler receives a shout out in the newest episode of the popular show's spinoff series, Marshals.
This article covers a developing story. Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.A familiar name appeared in the second episode of CBS’ Yellowstone spinoff, Marshals, giving fans a glimpse of what the beloved character has been up to since the hit series ended.
In Marshals season 1, episode 2, Kayce Dutton and his son, Tate , are having a conversation about who would be taking care of East Camp once the former moves on to his new position. And, Kayce revealed that Rip Wheeler had found a few temporary workers who could hold down the fort until he finds someone to replace him permanently. The character tells his son,"Rip found some hands 'til I can find a more permanent solution." Of course, this response sent Yellowstone fans into a frenzy. Viewers are now wondering if Rip and his wife Beth Dutton will appear on Marshals at some point. In an interview with TVLine, the spinoff's showrunner, Spencer Hudnut, was directly asked if the two characters from the flagship series would guest star somewhere down the line. And, he gave a semi-optimistic, but noncommittal answer. Hudnut essentially said that Beth and Rip could"potentially" show up in some capacity. However, he did add that he wouldn't be entirely sure how they would fit into the story. If he is telling the truth, this would almost definitely mean that the couple won't be in Marshals season 1, but if CBS renews the show, they could make appearances in season 2. We have a couple of characters who will pop up this season who are from universe. You know, Kayce still has a sister and brother-in-law who are out there, so, that's always potentially on the horizon. I don't know how we would make all that work.
