Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton is wanted by Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on a season-long loan
Liverpool must decide whether to sanction the temporary departure of Tyler Morton after Bayer Leverkusen made a loan offer for the midfielder. Morton is valued at around £20million by the Reds and had attracted interest earlier in the summer from Italian side Atalanta and Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig. But Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso, himself a former Liverpool midfielder, wants to sign the 21-year-old on a season-long loan with an offer now being considered by Liverpool.
The England under-21 international featured for part of Liverpool's pre-season under new boss Arne Slot and has been training with the first team, but failed to make the matchday squad for the opening two Premier League games. Liverpool have already raised more than £60m this summer with the sales of Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van den Berg to Brentford and Bobby Clark to Red Bull Salzburg. Academy graduates Billy Koumetio and Harvey Blair have also departed for small fees.
